Joomla 34.1. How to fix “Could not instantiate mail function" in Koparent
Hello Experts
I keep on getting the error 'Could not instantiate mail' in an module called Koparent that I use for my booking system in Joomla. At first I thought it might just be an issue with Koparent, then I searched around and found that it's likely an issue with my Joomla settings, see below.
Can someone please help me fix this
Regards

Does the installation is online or offline (wampserver)?
If Offline, this won't work easily, it is possible to set something using stunnel this is what i do using Gmail account (you also have to set your email account to use this). This is not easy if your not familiar with it.... https://www.stunnel.org/docs.html
If Online
Does the default Joomla SMTP is working correctly, if it does so it's mean that the problem is on Koparent side if it's not this mean this i a general SMTP issue.
You may get this message for several reason, like sending too many messages, wrong email, wrong bounced email, you have special character in subjet line or in the sender-receiver information, the subjet line is too long .
You can contact your hosting company to have specific settings for SMTP.
Good luck

Hi lenamtl
Thanks for responding.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean. However, the default is phpmail. It was working 3 weeks ago.
Also SMTP isn't working either.
Any other thoughts?

Hello All,
I have just tried to register on my site. I should get an email letting me that someone is trying to register, however I didn't get an email, therefore I dont think this problem is particularly an issue with Koparent.

Is your installation is online (web hosting company) LIVE accessible from Internet or local on your PC (wamp, xampp server) this is very important to know that.
PHP mail will work in both condition.
SMTP will work only on Hosting company
SMTP can work on your PC wamp or xamp server but required Stunnel installation and configuration.
If your site is online first contact your hosting provider open a ticket and check with them if they have specific SMTP settings.
