The Processing of Group Policy Failed on client PC's

Just recently started receiving this when trying to run gpupdate /force on client PC's in a single network with an SBS 2011 being the main DC:-

The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows attempted to retrieve new Group Policy settings for this user or computer. Look in the details tab for error code and description. Windows will automatically retry this operation at the next refresh cycle. Computers joined to the domain must have proper name resolution and network connectivity to a domain controller for discovery of new Group Policy objects and settings. An event will be logged when Group Policy is successful.

Nothing has changed recently however I have added a new Windows 2012 Member Server a week or so ago.
All client PC's are not getting Group Policy updates and users have noticed their Folder Redirection for Desktop and Favorites aren't appearing. Have rebooted the SBS and even turned off the 2012 Standard Server just in case it was interfering and rebooted the SBS however no change.

any ideas why this has appeared suddenly and how to resolve? I wasn't to migrate this internal domain over from the SBS 2011 to the 2012 server very soon however don't want to do so if there are serious errors with Group Policy not working correctly.

Thanks in advance.
