Outlook 2016 Freezes on the startup splash page.

try to Open Outlook 2016 on a Windows 10 machine, when it was installed and activated everything seems to work fine, however in the last couple of days when trying to open it the Outlook 2016 splash screen appears and says starting and it just hangs there, it will never go into the actual mailbox.

What could be going on?

Thanks in advance!

You may have a corrupt OST. If you do not need the OST just uncheck cached exchange mode and see if it loads. Just go under account settings, highlight the email account, click change, go to more settings on the next screen, go to advanced tab, uncheck exchange mode.

Edward, that worked perfectly and ten I shut it down and re-opened the normal way and voila!

so my next head scratch er is what happen to cause this and why does this fix it?

Thanks!
So what you do now is go thru the add-ons that you load and add them one at a time till you find the culprit. :)

Good luck! Thanks for starting my outlook troubleshooting part of my brain. I need it for one of my customers this morning. :)
If you don't have any add-ons then I will be scratching my head. LOL! :)
Edward, where are the add-ons section in Outlook 2016?
Click file, go to options, Click Add-ins (I called them add-ons) , you will see it right above Trust Center..
