I have a new host with an HP storage adapter that I am trying to connect to our emc san which is a vnx  5500.
I can see the adapter in the vctr and can see the mac address but the 3 lights on the storage adapter just keep flashing off and on which it should not be doing.
Is there something I need do in VMware to stop the lights from flashing?

Make sure

1. driver is correct for HBA.
2. firmware is correct for HBA.
3. firmware for HBA is correct for SAN.
4. HBA us supported by server and ESXi 6.0. (HCL)

well the adapter shows up in vctr for the host so I think the driver is good because I also installed HPE esxi 6 so the drivers should be good

FC
when I go into the san and setup the initiator like the other 5 host, it does not allow me to create it. The option to click on ok stays greyed out for some reason.
I plugged the 2 FC cables into ports that had host connected to them before.
