What commissions does Amazon pay?

I want to create an affiliates program for by book sales and card game sales, but want to pay a higher commission than Amazon.

I expect I'd have a sign-up page and a button they can use to email themselves the URL to use on their website.

When a user clicks and buys, I will pay that affiliate a fee.

What kinds of rates for a $19.99 and $29.99 purchase are normal?

What percent would you consider very appealing?

Thanks.

Wow! These rates are so much lower than I was expecting to give. I want to give more along the lines of 25% flat, regardless of volume.

is that crazy?

A $19.99 sale gets them 5 bucks!

Is that dumb me?

I would clearly state in the agreement that I have the right to change the commission structure, perhaps with 24 hour notice. I need to give myself a large exit, in case I have issues with that commission.

Thoughts?
I do not want to become an Amazon affiliate. Why would I contact them? I want to know that they pay (thanks for the link) so I could be ahead of the curve.
Sorry, I kind of thought that's where you were going when you stated "I want to create an affiliates program".

My bad.

But anyways, lots of useful info there to sift through.
thanks
