vmware convert disk size changes from block to file level transfer

Hi experts,

Using the vmware convert I noticed that when I modify the disk size it converts from block level to file level transfer, which is obviously much slower. Is there any way around that?

esxi5.5
vcenter5.5

thx.

Have you compared the conversion times ?

I'm afraid not! Don't use it! Use a different product.

VMware Converter, I'm afraid is what it is, it's FREE.

nothing you can do about it.

If you want to change a virtual disk size

HOW TO: Shrink a VMware Virtual Machine Disk (VMDK) in 15 minutes

Have you compared the conversion times ?
