VMware VMs and Templates
In Vsphere Client we have Folders created which only show up when I switch to VMs and Templates view. I would like to move some VMs to specific folders while in VMs and Templates view. However I wonder if this will have any impact on VMs if they were for instance in certain resource pools that I might not be aware of .

Thank you

Correct, this is by design.

I would like to move some VMs to specific folders while in VMs and Templates view. However I wonder if this will have any impact on VMs if they were for instance in certain resource pools that I might not be aware of .

None,  folder's provide a method to arrange VMs, apply permissions.

If those VMs are in Resource Pools, Templates are usually Deployed, not power-on permanently.

Resource Pools, include the object, that will not change, when you move the VM or Template.

Therefore, if you change the location in the VM and Template view, it will not change the resource pool the VM or Template resides in.
