Windows 2012 R2 Server Stuck While Rebooting at Spinning Green Windows Screen

Have a few Windows 2012 R2 x64 virtual machines that have this issue when rebooted. Reboot the machine but then when coming back online it sits on the black screen with the green Windows logo for 10+ minutes unless the device is powered off and back on, then only gets stuck there for about 2 minutes.

The circle is underneath the logo is spinning so it looks like it is doing something. Read elsewhere that this could be caused by a Microsoft update that had a hotfix for it, but not able to find that article.

Assuming this is hyper-v? This article has the KB related to machines that will not restart and require a power off and power on before they'll boot properly - http://www.vmspot.com/server-2012-vms-not-booting-after-a-restart/
