I am looking for a way to password protect usb ports.  I want restricted access for all devices except keyboard and mice.  Although I would still like to be able to access the port if our IT team needs to use a usb port for a flash drive or external hard drive.  So far in my research I have come up dry on finding any software that does such a thing.  Maybe one of you guys could steer me in the right direction?

Password protect? No. However you can disable access to Removable Storage devices via GPOs. Note the attached screenshot showing where to set this up and how. Also, in the Scope / Security Filtering tab you may apply it to all but the machines used by your IT staff.

Note the proprietary code {53f56...etc}. That is universal and 'should' work on Windows 7+ boxes to my knowledge
