Office 365 - Azure Sync Service - Hide for GAL not updating

We are trying to sync a HIDE FROM GAL change for a user, the sync is working it seems, but the change is not showing in o365...see screenshots

The object in question needs to have its alias/mailnickname attribute populated. Otherwise no Exchange related attributes will flow to Azure AD.
