I need a good wireless DVR camera to monitor for theft

Hi, I have all of my business inventory delivered to my home, and recently I had an issue where I was waiting for an item to be delivered and I never got the item. I called the supplier today and they said it was delivered about a week ago. They gave me the tracking number and it did show that it was delivered, It was a big box, weighing aprox. 65-70 LBS.

I often get multiple items delivered by UPS every day or two, but sometimes I could have as many as 10 packages being delivered.

Usually someone is home to put them in the garage, but sometimes when they deliver boxes they dont even ring the door bell they just leave them outside. So I think it would be a good investment to buy a wireless DVR camera, because if I had one in this case, I would be able to see if UPS unloaded a pretty large box, or what. The value of the items was aprox $750 and it has yet to be located.

A person in out neighborhood had a car stolen a few weeks ago, so theft is also a potability. Or its possible that the UPS delivery company could have delivered it to the wrong address. Regardless, if I had a DVR cam I would be able to have better understanding of what happened.

So I was looking for a dvr system that supports maybe 2-3 cameras, but I was reading reviews on some, and some people say the cheaper ones always freeze up and have bad signal. So I was looking for a suggestion on a system that is going to give me the best quality at the best possible price.

Any suggestions?

DVR with wireless cameras work great until the cameras get stolen.

Have you considered contracting with your local UPS Store or Mailboxes Etc. or similar to take deliveries for you?

If you install cameras, all you're likely to get is video of some unrecognizable guy in a baseball cap and sunglasses or a hoodie making off with your stuff.

If you want to get cameras, one very simple wireless option would be to get a video doorbell from Ring.com or one of their competitors.  RIng's has a motion detector, and will save video to the cloud when it detects motion.  Powered by battery and/or your existing doorbell wiring.  They also sell standalone cameras, powered by battery and/or little solar panels.  Like the doorbells, connect to your wireless network and, when they detect motion, they save video to the cloud.  Advantages are that it's easy and convenient to set up (you don't need to run your own server), you can view the video remotely from your Android or iPhone, and you can, at any time, see "what's going on now," to see if there's currently a package on your porch.   It can be set up to alert you on your phone whenever there's motion detected and/or whenever someone rings the doorbell.   http://www.ring.com .

RIng will replace your cameras free of charge if they get stolen.  Using the checkout code 9whiteoaks will get you $25 off if you decide to order something.
This might sound a little off, but there are countless fake DVR cameras out there on sites like eBay and Amazon. I suggest Amazon because you can see how well they work, avoid cheap China crap ones. Things like soda cans or whatever else you can just put an SD card in them and let them sit all day. When the day is over, just scroll through the video and see if anything happens? This way, it's automatically recorded and you have proof. Some of these devices only work when motion or light is detected as well which makes it cheaper since you don't need a huge SD card and still have high quality video.

However, this won't monitor in real-time, but you can pick up on patterns if the thief keeps coming back at certain days or times of day. Thanks!
If you put it under an eve or protect it from the weather,

or a bit better quality,

Something like this is weather proof,

You can use a software as the DVR and record directly to your hard drive.

ispyconnect is a decent software solution and free.   I believe to use their cloud for remote access isn't free,

My personal favorite software DVR is BlueIris (many people love this software).   It's not free but feature packed.   I've setup security systems for many clients and myself using BlueIris.   It's definitely your best bang for the buck.

With IP wireless cameras outside and BlueIris on a system, you simply add the cameras based on their IP address into BlueIris or iSpyConnect.

The first 2 cameras i suggested use SD media, so the DVR is built in.
