We have vSphere 6.0 with HP 3PAR using SSMC.

We already have  LUNs  etc. in the existing environment.

1.  Could I create VVOLs? How?
2.  Is there any way I can convert the existing LUNs to VVOLs
3.  Additional space is required for few LUNs/storage
4.  What is the best method going forward to create  storage in such an environment.

Any  step by step guide for 1 - 4  above will be appreciated.

1. If you have current firmware support and configured your hosts - Yes.

some reading for you...

see here

2.Im afraid not, you will need to migrate VMs from LUNs to VVOLs.

3. not sure what you mean here.

4. Read all the documents above, LUNs are regarded as legacy, VVOLS incorporated into vSphere 6.0 are the future, if your environment supports it.

Test them....get familiar with them, and when you are comfortable with the technology, then you can switch.

Thanks for your excellent reply.  What I had meant by Q3 was there are certain LUNs that require additional space; what is the best way to increase/expand the storage space.

Increase the size of the LUN, and then expand the datastore.
