How to check the properties on a google drive folder?

Using google drive (within Chrome browser), and I cannot find an easy way of doing the equivalent of right clicking on a folder to get the properties of a folder including the number of files, total size of the folder etc).  In fact, I cannot easily find a way of doing the same on the root folder of the google drive to see how much space is being consumed and the number of files.

I know there is a file size column but thats not what I am looking for.  I need more info like number of files in a folder too.

ALSO, when a folder loads, it doesnt load the whole damn folder, I need to scroll to the bottom and wait until more files load.  What genius at google thought this idea up to slow down the whole experience of seeing or even ordering files quickly?

What I missing here for such a basic basic command?

I've since found a partial solution here, but there must be a better way of doing this:

Scott,
What you state is not true of all online storage sites.  Dropbox being an example.

Therefore I don't agree with your comment - this is something a junior intern could have realised at Google and implemented a very basic fix.   It's just not acceptable.

Did my advice help you any or were you looking for something further? Honestly unless you write all the code and send it for Google to approve, I don't think you're going to get what you want, sorry!
This is the best money I have ever spent. I cannot not tell you how many times these folks have saved my bacon. I learn so much from the contributors.

You cannot compare Google Drive to Dropbox. One good thing about competition in the world is that if something doesn't work for you then you are quite free to chose a product that does. Scott gave you valid information to get your desired result. The web client doesn't support the functionality you need. Google drive's strength is search (surprise)

How in the world does getting a particular files size equate to your desired get folder size?
