How can I find the exact geo location of an email sender or that impossible?

I'm just learning a bit about email and original source ,but not enough to fully understand it.

You have an IP - which there is many sites that trace that ,but every site shows you a different answer so its not accurate.
Then theres SMTP and ESMTPSA .

If someone could explain what or if how you actually locate.

Thanks :)

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I am not sure exactly what you are asking.

My email lands and may originate somewhere in United States but I do not live in United States.

You cannot determine where I am by email IP.

Thank you, I was wondering if an emails original information was like a house.
Example every house has a postal code or zip , is an Ip like that ?
JohnBusiness Consultant (Owner)Commented:
It is exceedingly unlikely a person has a public mail server in their house.

My mail may come from Canada or the US at my discretion. You cannot figure out the house from this. Not even remotely possible.

The IP addressing would point to the mali supplier - not me.

IP addresses are owned by the ISP or the hosting company and almost Never by the person.  When looking up one of my IPs, it often shows a town 30 miles away.  IPs with Comcast which is a nationwide company can show that they are in Pennsylvania where Comcast headquarters are no matter where the actual customer is located.

Technicians in the ISPs and hosting companies can use network logs to trace connections more precisely.  But to get them to do that, you will almost always need a search warrant and justify a legal need to do it.  And they will provide that info to the authorities like the police and not to you.

Since you are learning, use Email header analyzer which would give more understanding on how the email flew from one host to another until it reached your email provider.

Stuff like MX Toolbox (I use that) will NOT answer your question "How can I find the exact geo location of an email sender ?"

You cannot do what you want. No way.

Hi John,

My comnent isn't answer but just wanted to provide more information to the user who is still learning.

JohnBusiness Consultant (Owner)Commented:
@Rose ke - This question has been abandoned. You CANNOT find the exact location with an IP address. I posted that last month.
