I have revamped HTML based website into Wordpress based now. I am doing SEO for the website. Now the html pages still found in the search.

I have pages like

Old HTML url : http://www.test.com/profile.html

New Wordpress Url : http://www.test.com/profile/

I want to redirect all HTML pages into new WP based URL. It seems it needs to be 301 redirected to respective pages.

How can I write .htaccess code as per this link, https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/93633?hl=en
