Hi,
I have an SBS 2011 box that for a couple of years has run fine with few issues, in the last week or so it's started generating thousands of this error:

Event Source    Event ID    Last Occurrence              Total Occurrences
SRMSVC                 4                    27/07/2016 04:00:06      1,442

Event Details:
File Server Resource Manager Service information: The COM Server with CLSID {20082091-f06d-4218-ba4c-25487d3adede} and name ''FsrmReportManagerInproc'' cannot be started on machine ''0x80070057, The parameter is incorrect. ''. Error: . 2D20436F64653A2053524D525054434330303030303039312D2043616C6C3A2053524D525054434330303030303035382D205049443A202030303031303539322D205449443A202030303030333136342D20434D443A2020433A5C57696E646F77735C73797374656D33325C73726D686F73742E657865202D20557365723A204E616D653A204E5420415554484F524954595C53595354454D2C205349443A532D312D352D313820

I have had a look around the usual TechNet articles and the only thing that I can find that seems relevant is something about Dot Net 2.0 being corrupted but I am not sure it's relevant to the above error.

Could anyone advice what might be causing this and what would be the fix for it as the server is wasting a lot of time logging these error messages.

Reboot the server and, if that doesn't fix it, you need to uninstall and reinstall FSRM.

Davis,

Is that a case of unticking the option in Remote Server Administration Tools section of the Remove Features wizard and then once removed tick it back on again?

What does FSRM do?  The help file is next to useless at explaining what it's for?

Also as this comes under "Remote Server Administration Tools" in the features section can I do this remotely or will its removal stop me accessing the server through remote desktop as I am external to the server.

Davis,
I restarted the server yesterday and the number of SRMSVC errors has dropped off. Will monitor but it looks to have fixed the issue.

Thanks for your help.
