a user left and I wanted to stop all incoming emails to his mailbox.

if I just disable mapi which is under mailbox features, will email stop

what is meaning of mapi disabled or if I disable mailbox will it be removed from mailbox database in few days

If you want to stop Incoming emails Then what is the use if keeping the mailbox?
If you just want to see his old emails export all the emails to PST and disable his account. Attach the PST to an outlook profile when required.
