KVM to external Laptop or iphone\ipad

I was just curious if there is a KVM adapter or crash card type of adapter that will allow me to use a laptop, iphone, or ipad as a kvm device, without having to have an external monitor or keyboard (mouse, don't really need it).

Reason is that it would be much for convenient for me to carry out as a consultant and also, I have a spare laptop that work work nicely for situations where there is a deployment where I need to configure management IP..etc for new set ups in case the customer doesn't already have an external keyboard or monitor.

Sounds like you are after a remote desktop client for an iPhone. This is not a KVM, but it lets you remote control a machine via a TCP/IP connection.

I use Microsoft's on my Samsung S5. It is a little clunky, and everything is tiny, but it works. Is OK to quickly check emails, reset a password, send a file etc., but would be  PITA for any serious work.  There is an Apple version which I assume is pretty similar. It is here:

No, not this.

Assuming that the server/box that I am setting up is a out of the box brand new installation and has not initial setup and requires an external monitor and keyboard to configure the cimc or initial management network to get set up.  Just wanted to see what I can have with me in case the customer doesn't already have something there at their server room.

Something like a USB Laptop Console Crash Cart Adapter may work but it is a little pricey, around $300-$400.  Looking for something more affordable, around the $100 or less range if that exists.

If it is a PROPER server, you should be able to connect to the management processor via a browser, and run the setup from there. HP have iLO, Dell iDRAC, etc.
