MTU on leaf switch

I have a Meraki 220 switch connected to a Cisco intergrated Etherswitch (essentially a 3750 built into a Cisco 2921 ISR.) The Etherswitch is the root bridge. I noticed that the default MTU on the Meraki is set to 9578 where as the MTU on all ports on the Etherswitch is 1500. Should I just lower the MTU on the Meraki? Or does it likely not matter? The devices connecting to the Meraki are generally Cisco phones that then may have a laptop attached to them. Thank you.

9k MTU is for Jumbo Frames, which are an extension of the classic Ethernet packets of 1526 (raw, 1500 payload). Because of implementation differences and all the friction that creates it is not recommended to use  Jumbo Frames unless in very specific cases (point-to-point traffic like for SAN).
To be used, Jumbo Frames need to be set up on all communication partners. I don't expect VoIP   to be a good case for Jumbo Frames, but I wouldn't change the max. MTU on Meraki - or at least keep an eye on it after changing. It should not have an effect to reduce the MTU, but ...
