Roaming profiles to local profiles

Our company is still using Roaming profiles for some of the users. Is it really a requirement that a user uses a Windows profile is local rather than roaming when in cached exchange mode.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It is not a requirement, but you will use significantly more server storage space and network bandwidth to maintain the OST file in a roaming profile.

No it is not a requirement. But imagine a user with cached Outlook and with additional shared mailboxes have an OST file of more than 10 GB. That will be trouble for your bandwidth.
