Migrating from Server 2011 SBS to Server 2012

I had this question after viewing Recreate companyweb on Server 2012.

I followed the Sharepoint Foundations 2010 default installation.  When installed as a standalone not a sharepoint Farm, it defaults to the server name as the url.  I need it to reflect the original link remote.server.com  etc.   Any pointers would be great.  thank you.
