You referring to this VMware Product

http://blogs.vmware.com/vsphere/2011/08/new-enhanced-vsphere-50-storage-features-part-4-vsphere-storage-appliance.html

e.g. VSA ?

You can also no longer purchase VSA

http://www.vmware.com/products/vsphere-storage-appliance.html

it's and end of life product, and support ends in sept 2018.

It's an appliance which converts local ESXi storage into shared storage, replaced and superseded today by vSAN.

We would recommend you look at implementing VMware vSAN rather than VSA, that's our best practice!

Ah I see,

But that's the part that I'm licensed for.

Does vSAN now is a separate product or part of the VSphere enterprise plus license ?

vSAN is a separate product and license. There were discounts on offer to upgrade to it from VSA.

VSA is end of life, it stop being sold after 2014, you are two years too late!

We would not recommend deploying now.
