Time lapse between the recorded video files
Anyone familiar how to adjust the time lapse on the video recordings? WH-D5216 the model of the DVR we are using.
Please review the file 2 and 3. There's a 36 seconds lapse in-between and that's important where the crook breaks the glass.

So is there any way to make an adjustment so the recording doesn't skip between the files? I noticed there's always some lapse between files. Some shorter and some longer. Or there's no way to adjust those?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Viki, thank you for your reply. Always appreciate your help!
What I wanted to ask is. Is there a reason for skipping time between the video files? and,
Is there a way to adjust the DVR so it doesn't happen giong forward?
Luckily the crook got caught few yards away and arrested. Neighbor's van.

Hi Gary, thanks for replying. Always like your responses!
Yes, the motion detection is indeed enabled. Sensitivity set in the middle by default.
There's also an option for the Video Loss. Enable Video Loss Detection. It's not enabled. Not sure what would it do.
Other setings not sure what they are:
Privacy Mask - not enabled
Video Tampering - not enabled and Sensiivity lever to the minimum,
Intrusion Detection - not enabled, region 1, threshold 0, sensitivity on the middle, and percentage to the minimum, and
Line Crossing Detection - not enabled, Line 1, Direction A<->B, Sensitivity in the middle.
Any of these above I need to touch?

It doesn't look like same menus I have on my DVR. WH-D5216 is my model.
I know we installed a high res Sony cameas. 1920x1080 Frame rate 12
Not sure about the model though.. Not sure how to see it. I'll try to figure out though.

You see Tiras25, after I struggled with all the calculations garycase demolished everything in 2s :)
When you have to increase the sensitivity, with how much? Just trial and error? It is nothing clear specified, a value. You may loose your next crook in mean while...
Now you have 2 different opinions, so "take your pick".
My opinion is based on a real case that we had in a big factory with 1000 workers and 3 manufacturing plants. We had wireless cameras on high posts in different places, with continuous recording 1 month and then overwritten. We had also guards in shifts and RFID in/out control. We had a PC with a special DVR card to record everything on HDDs. The system worked quite well and sometimes we could see “crimes/offences”.
The system in never 100% bullet proof. With all the security measures we had unbelievable situations of theft, where I think the security guards were involved, but that is another story...
So I am pro continuously recording because I have seen it work, not missing a bit of action.

Hi Viki,
So far I just increased the motion sensitivity. Let me monitor for 2-3 days and see if improved. I'll report back in a few days. Sorry for the delay.
Thanks!

Do not count only with the motion detection, put it to record all the time. In some point in the time you will have problem again with the motion detection.

Thanks guys
Video No.3 shows 01:58:18 in the beginning.
There is 30s time of missing video. That is missing information.
We can do all kind of things with videos: join, cut, change speed, special effects...but we cannot add info that is missing, unless we fabricate one, so it is a lie.
If you intend to use this in a court then you must let the original video as it is, unchanged, unprocessed with different programs, otherwise is not a viable probe anymore.
The court may use help from video forensic specialists to find out if you “touched” the recordings.
Just let it as it is.
And anyway, none can do what you want if that info is missing. An overlapping video, yes that is easy, but not a missing one, that is impossible.
Too bad the Asian teenagers came out 2 min later and not earlier.
Is that your car?
