Yes, using a Group policy directive in your domain.

The directive is called;  ask the user to change the password before it expires  (in days).

Let me find the exact resource.

1. Enter gpedit.msc in Start Search box.
2. Navigate to
Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies - Security Options
3. In the right pane, double-click on the policy “Interactive logon: Prompt user to change password before expiration”.
4. Change the value you want.

I have built an exe that emails all users 15, 10 ,5-1 days until their password expires and also e-mails a report to Helpdesk of all the users.

If you are interested please let me know and I will get it for you (no cost).
