Hi,

Not really a techie question but....
Does anyone know of a folder sync application that can be scheduled and send an email when completed, showing if success or errors? Preferable freeware or low cost.
Thanks,
Col

Hi Col,
I've been using SyncBack from 2BrightSparks for many years:
http://www.2brightsparks.com/

I started with their SE version and then moved to their Pro version. They also have a Free version, which I've installed for many users (it works well, as long as you don't need any SE or Pro capabilities). Here's a comparison table for all three versions:
http://www.2brightsparks.com/syncback/compare.html

They all can do what you're looking for (even the Free one) — sync folders on a schedule (it utilizes the Windows Task Scheduler to do it) and email the log when completed. The Free version may meet your needs, but even the SE and Pro versions are reasonably priced. This is extraordinarily good software — I would not be without it!

As a disclaimer, I want to emphasize that I have no affiliation with this company and no financial interest in it whatsoever. I am simply a happy user/customer. Regards, Joe

Thanks Joe. Looks exactly like the type of app I'm looking for. Thanks for such a quick response.

Kind regards,

You're welcome, Col. If you have any questions as you start to use it, don't hesitate to ask. I've been using the program for a long time and am very familiar with creating what it calls the Profiles — those are the scheduled tasks (can be run on-demand, too) that perform the syncs. Regards, Joe
