SQL Linked Server Issue

Have the following issue

User trying to establish “Link Server” connection. It  fails.

Running select auth_scheme from sys.dm_exec_connections where session_id=@@spid returns NTLM

If SPN is registered for SQL service in AD assume issue is NTLM

What remedial action is required to make connection work?
