I would like to not show the highlighted parts of the grid if at all that is possible its read only.
am in VS visual basic in win app. not sure where the properties are to do that

you may try set these 2 properties to false.

in addition of that, also set the ReadOnly property to True.

it stopped the add new row but that left column is still there, which is a pain as it uses up real estate, in access you can get rid of that

in access its called the record selector and it has a property

ive found out how but have to find the property
Set RowHeadersVisible property to false.
