Hi Everyone,

Noticed this morning my users are experiencing issues opening through the Office Web Apps.  This is just for Word however.  Checked the logs and found a critical area at the time I tested.

The Execute method of job definition Microsoft.Office.Server.UserProfiles.UserProfileImportJob (ID 29a51134-f018-408f-8a01-b9fdcd4a25b7) threw an exception. More information is included below.  Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object.

Looks to be a User Profile issue.  Does this sound familiar?

Looks you have a user profile issue to correct, that possibly restarting the service may correct. But be careful, if this is SharePoint 2010 the UPS may get stuck on starting and is a pain to start again.

If you are running OWA on a separate server, a server restart may correct that issue. I think the issues are probably not related though, especially considering that other office documents open.

Good luck...

Thanks for the comment SneekCo.  Found out my OWA server farm was not attached to anything.  I reattached but I'm only able to Preview within Office Web App and still cannot edit.  I'll have to take a look at the User Profile service.

Solved the issue by reviewing the owa server connections to the sharepoint farm.
