Wordpress:  Events / Directory Listings

Hi.

I am trying to change over an ASP site to a Wordpress site, but I am having trouble locating a plugin that will achieve a certain, and (I thought) basic task.

The site allows users to:
- Register
- Pay to list an Event (Consignment Sale, Yard Sale, etc.)
- List the Event with Start and End Dates

I am only finding plugins where you can:
- Create a business listing (Active for only a certain number of days -- no actual Start / End Dates)
- Create an Event where users can Register for said Event(s) (But does not allow a user to pay to Submit the actual Event itself)

Ultimately, general site users would be able to search these listings by: Start/End Dates, Location, Keyword, and such...

I thought for sure there would be a ton of plugins to do that, but... I am not finding any.

Could someone, please, point me in the right direction?

Thank you!
Shane

I was going to say maybe you need to use 2 plugins to get all the features, but actually, I can't top James' post...  Looks very promising. :-)
