Hello!

I know there's a K2 Tools module and it has among other things, its own Custom HTML module. The only difference that I've noticed is that it has "Parse PHP code" option.
So my question is... Is K2 Custom HTML module any better than Joomla's? Is it any different in any way?

You can see the code for yourself by downloading the K2 Tools install package, and looking at modules/mod_k2_tools/helper.php::renderCustomCode().  It basically sends the custom code parameter through the ob_* functions to execute it, then manually triggers the onPrepareContent and onK2PrepareContent events.  It is a pretty basic concept... I first saw it in NoNumbers' Sourcerer plugin, which worked beautifully, and is far less weighty than the entire K2 Tools package.

Of course, K2 Tools has much more to offer than just parsing PHP in your HTML module.  If you can find a use for the other features, perhaps it is worth your while to install it.

Just one further note: the K2 Tools module will act only on modules you create specifically with K2 Tools.  General plugins like Sourcerer will try to act on a much wider array of content.  That's not necessarily a problem, but it is something to consider.
