How to use custom image sizing with Irfanview?
We simply saved an image of a rectangle.
When we open this with Irfanview it shows up as 3.67 x 5.89 inches.
The 5.89 inches is too tall it won't fit on the top half of a printed word document.
I change the 5.89 to 5.0 and the program changes the 3.67 to 3.12 which is too narrow.

Yep, sometimes a little distortion is ok, but when you need to get down to a specific width and height while keeping it proportional, then you'll need to crop.
