Learning and pursuing career in Office 365 ?

Hi All,

I'd like to study and pursue the currently available Office 365 certification from Microsoft:

Managing Office 365 Identities and Requirements
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/exam-70-346.aspx

Enabling Office 365 Services
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/exam-70-347.aspx

I assume those exams above can be taken without going to the training itself and can be done in any order (not 346 first then 347).

But my confusion and the problem is that, how can I get the learning resource to try it myself ?

because there is no software to be downloaded to my test lab at home ?

Any help and suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Well it's a cloud service, there are no traditional labs. As there are lots of questions regarding identity management, you will need a simple setup with a DC, dirsync and AD FS. Other than that you might want to do some migration exercises.

But most of the learning/testing is done directly against the service, so simply provision a new trial (or few if needed).

Hi Vasil,

Thanks for the suggestion.

I have just registered my own domain.onmicrosoft.com using:

https://products.office.com/en-au/business/compare-office-365-for-business-plans

I do have some virtual Machines running in my home lab full with AD-DC and Exchange 2013, so how do I connect and configure ADFS to begin synchronizing ?

Isthat the correct path ?

This is the part where you start reading. There's extensive documentation available on the internet, as well as gazillion of blog posts/guides you can use. If you only want to focus on the exams, there are some useful "resources" posts such as: https://anderseideblog.wordpress.com/reading-lists/ms-exam-70-346-managing-office-365-identities-and-requirements/

Or you can get a book and get to know all the details, not just what's covered in the exams.

Here's your starting point for sync: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/active-directory-aadconnect/

See the findings.
Despite its humble beginnings, phishing has come a long way since those first crudely constructed emails. Today, phishing sites can appear and disappear in the length of a coffee break, and it takes more than a little know-how to keep your clients secure.

Hi Vasil,

for me I'm thinking to get the MS Exam Prep book, but they seems outdated ?

https://www.amazon.com/70-346-Managing-Office-Identities-Requirements/dp/150930066X
https://www.amazon.com/Exam-70-347-Enabling-Office-Services/dp/1509300678/

Would you kindly share your experience and how do you study when passing those O365 exams ?

I passed the beta exams several years back when there werent any books at all :)  If you want an up-to date book that reflects the latest changes, take a look at the Office 365 for IT Pros:  http://exchangeserverpro.com/ebooks/office-365-for-it-pros/

But it's not focused on the exams.

Thanks Vasil,

The Office 365 keep on changing due to the nature of the clouds :-/

I'm concerns that when I am about to sit the exam the questions are all different / updated than what I have prepared.
