Server 2012 - shadow copy

Hi all,

I have a number of data share on a 2012 server that I want to enable shadow copy for. There is about 140GB of space remaining and the share are around 1.3 Tb.

If I enable shadow copy should I set a limit, if so what limit should I set and how does effect the shadow copy?

You should certainly put a limit... Otherwise, your server could crash for lack of space

How much do you need ... Well, it depends! How much is your data changing? if 100GB is changed in a day, then a 100GB Shadow Copy will keep very little history; but if you are changing 1GB a day, then your 100GB Shadow Copy will last you quite a long while!

Tip: Did you know that you can also set the Shadow Copy on a drive that is different to your 1.3TB . So if you can add more HDD, you have some more options
