LDAP Troubleshooting


I have a Barracuda Spam box and LDAP isn't working. I'd like to troubleshoot my LDAP server and pull some logs or figure out where to start. I appreciate your help and support.

What LDAP query is the Barracuda sending? Is it binding as an account? No failed logons from that account, etc.?

Run Wireshark on the DC and filter for LDAP traffic to and from your Barracuda box.

Wireshark filter "ldap && ip.address==<ip of your barracuda>"

If you're using LDAP over SSL then you will need to export the private key from your DC and decrypt the traffic in Wireshark.
