I used a basic collector set template and a bunch of xml files were created.
I then opened the xml files with performance counter. it seems to be operational.
there are a ton of counters that were in the graph.
can anyone tell me what counters to add to a customized collector set that will show me the basic metrics I need to pinpoint most server related issues.... There are just a lot of counters in the provided templates.
I'd obviously like to know.... proc, ram, disk io... and identify if these are not up to the task of the apps running on the server.
bonus... can I pinpoint the application that is spiking server resource usage with a collector set?
extra bonus bonus.... I'd also like some recommended performance counters for a sql server and web server.
Microsoft Access has a limit of 255 columns in a single table; SQL Server allows tables with over 255 columns, but reading that data is not necessarily simple. The final solution for this task involved creating a custom text parser and then reading…
