Quickbooks Issue
Hello all,
Here is the setup and the issue:
I have a client that has a WIndows 7 Pro computer with 4 gig RAM and an SSD hard drive.
When Quickbooks 2014 was double clicked on it would take only 1 minute for it to completely open the company file.
For some reason suddenly Quickbooks was taking 20 minutes to open (the company file is only 24 meg large).
I found that there was an issue with the svchost.exe (netsvcs) that was pegging over 1.5 gig of memory and I fixed that over this past weekend. Know this process only takes up 25 meg of memory.
I uninstalled and then reinstalled Quickbooks 2014.
Now it takes six minutes to open up the company file.
Not sure what to do next.
With an SSD it should not be this slow and no other programs (such as Lacerte) take this long to open. They are all fast.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kelly W.

It is working and the solution is strange.
I ran the rebuild on the company file three times and it was fine.
Still took 6 minutes to start Quickbooks then open the company file.
I noticed that the computer is getting DHCP from the router and that the DNS was the IP address of the internal LAN of the router. Changed the DNS to the IP addresses of the ISP the client was connecting to and now Quickbooks starts up and opens a company file in 25 seconds.
Thanks for your help.

Thank you very much
You are very welcome and I was pleased to assist. I have a bunch of Company Files that are under 100 MB and they open in seconds from a hard drive.
