Ever since we assigned a new computer to one of our staff, his mailbox is increasing by 3 to 4GB everyday on our exchange server. The .ost file on his local profile is about 4GB but he keeps getting the warning "Your mailbox is becoming too large" from the server. This user is in our remote office connected via site to site VPN. He's the only one having this problem.

We were not notified about this until today so here is the size of his mailbox (from the server) from the last 5 days.

11452MB
15125MB
18067MB
21391MB
24760MB

Seems like the sync issue between the exchange server and the client (outlook)? Has anyone seen this issue and if so, what did you do to fix it?

Hi David,

There is no mailbox size limit (unlimted) but we have a warning message that gets triggered once the user reach 2GB which inform them their mailbox is getting bigger and need to do the clean up.

The problem is fixed on its own. I had to recreate the user's profile but this time I asked him to keep the computer on until it says all folders are up to date. Believe this was the culprit since the user is on a remote location and he may have shutdown the computer before the sync was completed.

The problem is fixed as soon as we recreated the user's outlook profile.
