Try three things:

1. Make a backup copy of your PST file. In Control Panel, Mail, delete the Outlook Profile. Close out, go to Outlook, make a new Outlook Account, be sure to point it to your existing PST file and see if Outlook works.

2. Uninstall Office 2013, shut down, start up, and then install Office 2013. Patch as needed with Windows Update.

3. If no luck, make a new, test, Windows User Profile (Account). Log into the new Windows User account and set up Outlook. Does it work? If so, the Windows User account was damaged.

Did you try rebuilding your indexing in Outlook?
In Outlook 2013 click on the File tab, then click Options > Search
Click Indexing Options
You should now see what locations are being indexed. Click Advanced
Under Troubleshooting, click Rebuild
Rebuilding will take some time so make sure to leave your PC running for a while, preferably when you don’t need to work with it since indexing can impact the speed of your computer.

Go to your account and make sure your account settings are correct for your ISP. Receiving is normally 995 / SSL and sending is normally 587 / TLS or SSL

Make sure the POP addresses are correct. Check these with your ISP.

Hello Moataz Ali,

First please try the solution as suggested by the "John Hurst". If the problem still appears, then there might be various reasons such as:

Reasons:

  • Corrupted Outlook PST file,
  • Huge Outlook Data file,
  • Incorrect MS Outlook Configuration and

  • Virus attack cause data inaccessibility

Solution:

To resolve Outlook error 0x800CCC97 message you should try to repair your corrupted PST files using Inbox Repair Tool. If error still occurs, then might be your Outlook PST file is highly corrupted that's why Inbox Repair Tool fails to repair. In such a case, you should try any third party tool. I would like to suggest you Outlook PST Repair Tool to resolve Outlook error.

If I copy *.PST file to another folder so be save location, after that start to make backup or archiving to outlook

Try this:

1. Make a very safe copy of your PST file in a non-Outlook location.
2. Go to Control Panel, Mail and delete your Outlook profile.
3. Close out, go to the Outlook location (normally My Documents\Outlook) and delete the PST files. Make SURE you have backups first.
4. Shut down.

Now Start Up and open Outlook. Make your account and test it. Does it work?

If so, Import the PST file and see if it continues to work?
