Linux on a Dell PowerEdge 720

Hello Experts,

We have a Dell PE720 that runs Linux and has a error "PCI1320 Fatal Bus Fatal Error on Bus 64 device 2 Function 0. Power Cycle system."  Any ideas or direction we should take in troubleshooting this one?

What cards do you have plugged into the system?

Are you booting of a RAID controller, or via SD?


Did you install the openManage tools for linux where you can see what device is being reflected as failed or failing?

Do you have anything other than a RAID controller , network, HBA? one of those may have an issue.

Often, a fatal error as reported, means the card that is being reported as having an issue might not be reflected in the listing i.e. on boot or while working the system sees a card plugged in but is not "responding"

download install Dell openmanage http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product/poweredge-r720/driversusing this you could see the data. if you have configured the remote you can use ipmitool to query the hw......
