Deleting questions because they are not PC is wrong

Commentary for Press Piece: Issues to watch during this election cycle  -  was deleted as I was in the middle of posting a thought.  It wasn't important but someone was asking for an opinion so I offered one.

Apparently, someone didn't agree with me or someone else (we'll never know) because the law of Political Correctness says - if someone objects - OFF WITH THEIR HEAD!!!!!  SHUT DOWN THE DISCUSSION!!!!!  WE CAN'T TALK ABOUT IT IF I DON'T AGREE WITH WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING!!!!!  It doesn't matter if the discussion was civil or not.  Someone thought we shouldn't talk about it so instead of walking away and not participating - THEY VIOLATED MY FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS AND SHUT DOWN THE WHOLE CONVERSATION.

Political Correctness has not made this world a better place.  All it does is to shut down discourse.  You people are killing the First Amendment and you don't even understand how important it is to you.

The only people who could have deleted the thread are EE staffers (in this case because they started it).

I pretty much agree with the thought that the thread did not belong in EE because of the nature of this forum.

This kind of discussion can be, and is being, held outside EE and you can always join it there.  I am neither agreeing nor disagreeing with you. You could always put this in the Lounge group where anything goes, but we don't have to go there.

I mean no ill to you.

And if that is the case, there was no violation of "FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS".

In any case, I could potentially support a stance that no deletion should have been done. "Potentially" because I didn't see an opportunity to read it, so I have no good idea how offensive it might have been to anyone. I have to assume that "PC (Political Correctness)" had very little to do with it. That's almost never the reason such things get deleted. It's usually cited as a reason by people who have no good idea what it means, as are claims of First Amendment violations.

One person should not be allowed to shut down a conversation.
