Configure Remote App Deployment

Does anyone know if I change the setting on the collection on server 2012r2 remote desktop services to no longer use a  RD Gateway Server if the RemoteApp which is configured under that collection would need to be re-deployed to users? I have copied the actual .rdp file from the /rdweb page instead of setting it up as  remote app in control panel, which I seemingly now regret.

Any .rdp file manually copied would indeed have the old settings, and manually copying does defeat one of the major design points of the RDCB/RDWeb combo, which is easy change management.

Thank You, but would it disrupt the existing .rdp file? I didnt do that because unfortunately I inherited our east coast branch that has non-domain joined computers so I cannot use group policy to deploy and do not have "hands" available onsite to set them up. But I now wish I had hired someone to do it.

In a normal setup, it would not disrupt existing .rdp files if they work. But there are infrastructures and topology dependencies that could create exceptions to this advice.
