Windows 7 and Paperport 14

I installed paperport 14 when I installed my new scanner Xerox DocuMate 3220. It worked fine for a few months. This week it has crashed several times. I uninstalled it and went to Version 12 which I had on hand. It has also crashed. Could this be a compatibility issue. I tried to reinstall version 14 but it will not install.

download revo uninstaller pro trial(makes sure its the pro version)  Do an advanced uninstall of paperport and it will get rid of all existing files and registry entries.  When it finds entries in windows choose select all then delete, same for the registry entries.   Then do a fresh install of the latest version again.

Hi Donna,
My suggestion is to go back to PP14, as follows:

(1) Install the latest scanning drivers for your DocuMate 3220 from the Xerox site:
http://www.xeroxscanners.com/en/us/products/drivers.asp?PN=97-0041-00U

PaperPort is very sensitive to the scanning drivers — I always recommend being on the latest from the scanner manufacturer. Note that PP supports ISIS, TWAIN, WIA, and WIA2 drivers.

(2) Uninstall all PP12 components as described in Section V. Uninstallation Procedure of this EE article:
PaperPort 12 - Free Upgrade to Version 12.1

Do not use any aggressive uninstaller, such as Revo, or registry cleaner, such as CCleaner. They are likely to do more harm than good. If the standard Windows uninstall of all components doesn't work, use Nuance's PP12 and/or PP14 Remover Tool, as discussed in the PP12.1 article above and the PP14.5 article below. As the PP12.1 article states, PP12, PDF Viewer Plus, and PP Image Printer require separate uninstalls.

(3) Do not install PP14.0. Instead, install PP14.5 (free), as described in this EE article:
PaperPort 14 - Free Upgrade to Version 14.5

You PP14 product key will work with the PP14.5 installer.

(4) Install the PP14 Patch 1 update (free), as described in this EE article:
How to install the Patch 1 update for PaperPort 14.5

(5) Install PP14 Scanner Connection Tool, as described in this EE article:
PaperPort 14 Scanner Connection Tool - Fix Scanning Problems in PaperPort 14

Let me know where things stand after that. Regards, Joe

The steps outlined in https:#a41770874 have been used by many, many PaperPort users to solve PP14 problems similar to those asked in this question.
