I opened up my Notes app and nothing was there.  I had pages of notes and now they're gone.
Just the icon is there.
Where could I possibly find them.  Is there a backup made of them?errIs it possible to delete them by accident?

I have Notes like this and they do not self delete. Yes, you could delete them by accident - accidental deletions are reasonably common. Do you have an iTunes backup of your iPhone?

Notes is included in Backup Everything. It is not separately identified. So you would have to be prepared to restore your iPhone to see if the Notes are there (I cannot guarantee they will be).

Go to https://www.icloud.com/
Login.
Go to Notes.

Are they listed there?
