I have read/tried all below and cannot display Mac El Capitan screen on Apple TV 4 - the Airplay icon is never visible. All apps/OS are latest. Apple TV returns (on TV Screen) select 'Living Room", which in name I assigned to Apple TV

Stream video from QuickTime Player or Safari

In OS X El Capitan, you can stream certain videos to your Apple TV from Safari or QuickTime Player (version 10). Just click the AirPlay icon —if available—in the playback controls, then choose your Apple TV.

What model Mac do you have? Airplay's minimum requirements are:

• iMac (Mid 2011 or newer)
• Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer)
• MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer)
• MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer)

Apple TV 4 with current updates

AirPlay works OK with iPhone 6S in same location (home Office) as Mac Mini, also works OK with iPad 3g under same conditions

System Preferences...Displays...(I have 2)...RightHandDisplay...there is a switch...AirPlay Display...Off...Living Room (name of Apple TV in question)...selecting 'Living Room' starts AirPlay Display.

Talk about dumb Luck! I have never read about this feature - just did Spotlight Search for 'AirPlay Display' - first item returned was solution.

Anyone else found this? If so, what led you there?
