I have created a set of company styles on Normal.dotm as soon as import the styles it looses all it's linked styles in word 2010. The same exercise is done in word 2016 and it pulls through perfectly.

Is there a bug in word 2010 and is there a quick fix.

Charlene

Word will create its normal template in the folder defined at Options > Advanced > File Locations > User Templates . Did you change the location?  Does the user have permission to the location?  What is the date on normal.dotm - current date or old date?

I wouldn't recommend adding the company styles to the Normal template. It is intended to be the user's personal template and is too vulnerable to change by the user and the system.

Create a company template with the styles and put it in a shared location on the network. Then point each user's 'Workgroup templates' option to that location. I understand that the latter can be done via GPO.

Yes, I agree with using a different template. Also, Charlene, please answer the questions above.
