Hi Guys,

I'm getting the following error on our sbs 2011 server and don't know how to resolve it, any suggestions please would be greatly appreciated:-

The Execute method of job definition Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPConfigurationRefreshJobDefinition (ID e28e1d21-1844-40c9-8e7d-537c55ea62f0) threw an exception. More information is included below.

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)

Thanks in advance

Appears as if the SQL service may be stopped. Check that and if need be start the service. If it is running, don't restart in the middle of the day or users could lose data, not a good thing to cause.

Good luck..

Many thanks for your advice, restarted SQL service a couple of times and it does appear okay now, so I'll keep my eye on it to see if it happens again.

Glad that helped. Keep monitoring it and if it does reoccur try and determine why.

Have a good one...
