Cisco 5508 WLAN Controller - Autonomous AP Fallback

We use a 5508 Wireless Controller. Currently, when the controller goes down for maintenance, our APs drop clients and basically wait for the controller to come back up.

Is there a configuration option within the controller web UI that will instruct the APs to go into an autonomous mode if the controller is unavailable?

No, however you could use FlexConnect mode to enable APs to switch traffic locally and use a local authentication server.

It's only really used for branch offices where APs are connected to the WLC via a WAN link.
