Create an automatic response for Exchange 2010 Distribution List

A group of our internal clients always send email to a specific distribution list in our Exchange 2010 for issues of some applications.  

We plan to setup a CONTACT that links to an external email address of some service desk service.

Is it possible to setup some sort of automatic response for distribution list to notify clients about stop using the distribution list and use the CONTACT instead?

Also, we want to disable that distribution list at some point.  What is the best way to do it besides deleting it?

You can set up a transport rule so that when any email goes to the distribution list it will respond with verbage.  Solved by EE user Adam Farage
