Hi,

We are looking to upgrade our Citrix PM 4.5 to XenApp but to do this we need to upgrade our AD system to Server 2012 R2.  So my question is, if we update our AD system first will the old Citrix 4.5 PM still work until we move everyone across?  We have contacted Citrix but due to 4.5 being so old they will not comment either way.

Thanks
Chris

It "should" be there are a lot of ifs. But first, what is your current AD based on? Server 2000, Server 2003 or ___. What is your domain and forest functional levels?

We currently running both 2003 R2 and 2008 R2 with our domain and forest functional level 2003 native.  We are planning to keep 1 server 2003 R2 and 1 Server 2008 R2 and keeping the functional level to same due to some old apps that still need these in place.  We have been told that in Server 2012 the global catalog has been updated and this is the main worry.

Thanks

Your original question said 2012 R2 and now you say 2012. @012 will be fine as it supports 2003 DFL/FFL. You will have no issues with the GC on a 2012 DC in 2003 DFL/FFL.

2012 R2 does not support 2003 domain controllers.
