I have seen that error before on my HP 8610.  Solution (for me):

Uninstall the Printer, HP Help, HP Update, IRIS and anything else about that printer in Programs and Features.
Go to Devices and Printers, Printer Server Management, Drivers Tab and remove the HP driver.
Open cmd.exe with Run as Administrator, run SFC /SCANNOW and allow to complete.

Shut down, start up, get the full driver package from HP for your printer, install and be sure to follow the directions completely.
